Supported Living is a community-based service that provides support skills training and direction to assist participants to remain integral members of their community. The supports address the current needs of the individual and allow for improvement in many of the areas necessary to live successfully in the community. The support is provided in the participant’s home to increase the probability of generalization for learning.

The Supported Living program allows our participants to experience all the successes and failures of living truly independently while supporting them and assisting them to make sound decisions involving all aspects of their life. The Supported Living program believes that all participants have the right to govern their own destiny and experience all the successes and failures in striving to achieve the goal of real independence. We devote our time, and especially our expertise, to finding truly experienced men and women to provide the best support possible for our participants.

Supported Living services provide individualized support delivered in a personalized manner to participants’ who live in homes of their choice, with whom and where they want to live, and the type of community activities in which they wish to be involved based on their personal resources.

Supported Living Service assists participants’ in living independently and provides opportunities to help them shape the direction of their lives. Individuals can choose to live on their own or with a roommate and learn how to make everyday decisions, such as what to cook for dinner, how to manage money, and engage and participate in their community.

Supported Living services may also be provided in the participant’s own house or apartment.

Service may include coordination, training, support, and/or supervision (as indicated in the person-centered plan) related to:

  1. self-advocacy.
  2. adaptive skills.
  3. community engagement.
  4. daily living.
  5. health-related matters.
  6. personal care.
  7. protection and oversight.
  8. social and leisure skills; and
  9. transportation and travel training
