Staffing requirements will be derived from each Individual Plan. Each support staff will demonstrate the ability to support the individual to pursue his or her outcomes. Each support team member will be trained on person-specific details (including preferences, positive behavior supports, and disability-specific information).
Generally, each staff will be required to:
- Meet the requirements as designated by the person;
- Have a valid CPR and 1st aid License
- Have a valid Certified Medication Technician CMT License, if required by the individual assigned to support
- Satisfactorily complete an application for employment, physical and I-9 information
- Undergo and pass a criminal record check;
- Have a valid driver’s license if required by the Individual they are supporting (Not more than 2 points)
- Share a philosophy that all individuals, regardless of disability, belong in their chosen communities.
Each support staff employed by Home4Me, Inc. will be trained on the job description developed by the agency to support individuals based on their Individual Plan and Behavioral Support (as applicable). Staff will be trained as per COMAR 10.22.11.13
All staff of Home4Me, Inc. are encouraged to be involved in promoting best practices, attending regional training that aligns with our mission, advocating for effective legislation and policy-making, conducting training, and acting as role models in self-determination.
Other training would include:
- Training on basic safety skills
- Training on developing competency in housekeeping skills including, but not limited to, meal preparation, laundry, and shopping
- Training on developing competency in personal care skills such as bathing, toileting, dressing, and grooming, which is tailored to our individuals’ needs.
