Respite is a relief service provided for the participant’s family or primary caregiving provider, for participants unable to care for themselves.
Respite is provided on a short-term basis because of the absence or need for relief of those persons who normally provide care for the participant.
It is provided in a non-institutional setting to meet planned or emergency situations, giving caregivers a period of relief for scheduled or emergency time away from the individual.
Respite can be provided in:
- The individual’s home
- The individual’s family home
Respite is a short-term relief service provided when the participant’s regular caregiver is absent or needs a break. Home4me, Inc. will provide respite services in the individual’s home and/or community settings to meet planned or emergency situations, giving primary caregivers time free from their role as a care provider.
In providing Respite services, Home4me, Inc. will ensure that families or primary caretakers are relieved from their caregiver responsibilities while providing participants with new opportunities, experiences, and self-determination.
